June 26th, 2013, led by President Li, the four-people bidding group of Nanjing Ys well planned for Public Welfare Programs, with longing for having an elderly home of our own and thick bidding documents, went to Dongshanqiao, Jiangning to participate in the bidding on right of operating and contracting of part of Dianjiangtai and Zutangshan Homes for the Elderly facilities. The bidding was held by Nanjing Civil Affairs Bureau. The group member, Ms. Han Pinmei (Partner, Legal Representative of Heart to Heart Elderly Service Center) said, “President Li started the training for the nurses in homes for the elderly in 2005, and initiating home for the elderly has been President Li’s dream for years, and today, the dream is going to come true.”
8 organizations participated in the bidding this time, in which 4 of them would bid for the Dianjiangtai Home for the Elderly. The bidders consisted of the nursing institutions for the elderly LLP, private-owned nursing institutions for the elderly and private-owned hospitals.
In order to highlight YMCA’s international vision in elderly service, professional ideas in social work, and the purpose of making this Home an elderly community, Home-based elderly care service, we emphasized the cultural characteristics in the bidding documents. In this Home, we will build “Four Bars & One Supermarket” (Tea Bar, Book Bar, Internet Café, Dinner Bar and Supermarket) and spare no efforts to make the aged people feel at home or in community.
When developing the bidding strategy for the contracting costs, we established the Principle “Focus on Resources, Not Capital”. In the bidding documents, we showed the judges YMCA’s comprehensive domestic and international resources, and HHESC’s (Heart to Heart Elderly Service Center) experience and creative methods in the past 20 years. Later on, we found that these contents are the reasons why the tender organization chose us. In the future, Nanjing YMCA will continue integrating domestic and international resources and build CienElderlyServiceCenterinto a warm and sweet home for the elderly.
