Phase II Capacity Building Training for the Teachers from Disabled Fostering Centers Was Completed

On the afternoon of Nov. 13th, the closing ceremony of the second phase training of capacity building for the teachers working for the disabled fostering centres was held at the meeting room on the seventh floor of service centre for the disabled foster service, which symbolized lasting 9 month training had been finished.  The training program is conducted by Nanjing YMCA, Nanjing Disabled Persons’ Federation and the Unionof the Disabled Foster Service Association.  President Liu Jinrong, secretary Shang Yingzhou from Disabled Persons’ Federation and theUnionof the Disabled Foster Service Association, Wang Yousong from education and employment dept of NDPF, director Han Shaning from Nanjing YMCA were presented.  President Liu, confirmed the necessity of cooperation among the PDF and social organizations on serving the disabled and team building, this kind of training and cooperation becomes a necessary supplement of the government orientated service, would develop a new way to serve the group of the disabled in many aspects.

  

The totality of curriculums is 16 subujects, including Convention of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, Measures for the Implementation of Protection for the Disabled in Nanjing; Social Work; Team Work, Case Evaluation and Individualized Education Scheme; the Solution for Emotional Behavior of the Mentally Retarded; Teaching Methods for  the Fostering Centers for the Mentally Retarded, Grading the Mentally Disabilities and Health knowledge, Therapy on Language and Training, Vocational Rehabilitation, OT and Craft, Sheltering Employment, SQS on Social Service Departments of HK and Practices and Applications on HK Rehabilitations.  All the curriculums in theory, in discussion and in practice; and also with study trips to domestic cities and HK, which made the managers and teachers who participated in the training felt vivid and profound. Just like a representative of the participants said in his speech, “After the training, I put the knowledge of team work and case evaluation into practice, and improved my service and received good comments from the serving objects and their parents.”
